Posted by Vince Wadhwani on Mar 26, 2008 in | politics | brainbits

I swear after all the Obama news on Digg and Reddit I'm starting to see things. At first I thought this Opera announcement said "Obama the first browser to pass the Acid3 test"*. Time to turn off the laptop and enjoy the day..

I decided to check out feedburner to see if this blog is at all useful to people on a daily basis. Here is the new feed for urbanpuddle. At the same time I want to mention that, while I still intend to post the music downloads here, I'll probably end up posting them more frequently over at Buyindie so if you're interested in the music, check out the Buyindie.net feed as well.

This weekend I finally got around to integrating basic Paypal e-commerce with Buyindie. At this stage I don't do enough in sales online to justify using Authorize.net or any comparable online credit card processing systems. But Paypal let's you buy with a credit card so hopefully nobody hates this. If you do, you can always send me a check and I'll post you a shirt. Email buyindie at gmail dot net if you're interested otherwise, just head over and buy a shirt online!

I couldn't possibly go into all the reasons in one short blog post but let's just say it's more than just the fuel economy. This brings us to today's link of the day. One of my colleagues was killed a few years ago by an SUV while walking his dog. You know, it shouldn't take a 6000 pound vehicle to move 200 pounds of human flesh and groceries.

Forget Investment Banking, the real money is in religion. Two homes in Florida, a private jet, two motorcycles, and two luxury cars? Wow. I guess if you raise $34 million and only give away $3 million to charity then the rest has to go somewhere, right?

New segment alert! I've decided to post one solid, quality link for your review. There are lots of great sites like Slashdot, OS News, and Digg out there that bring you tons of information. But I'm going to distill it all away and just present ONE link that you absolutely should take a look at. It may be silly, informative, or thought provoking. But it may not. In any case, why not check it out?

Without further delay, here's today's link:

Yesterday, I posted a quote by the Nobel Peace Prize winner for 2006. He gave a very eloquent analogy of poverty. Today, I present to you an almost *beautiful* quote on .. beauty:

An Analogy for Poverty

Posted by Vince Wadhwani on Dec 12, 2006 in | politics | environment | brainbits

Muhammad Yunus just gave his acceptance speech for the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize. There are some great words but my favorite analogy is this one on poverty. I wonder though if there is enough soil in the forest?
