Back in 2006, I wrote a post on Net Neutrality that I still encourage people to read. In it, I talk about how the Internet has become somewhat of an equalizer.. allowing equal share of time to ideas from every corner of the country and from every ideal. At no time has that been more evident than during this presidential nomination cycle.

Videos from all political persuasions have found a way online at sites such as YouTube. Today, as in 1994, there is no way that any major network would give more than a minute or two to play a candidate's speech. Instead, we suffer 30 second sound bites, and partial quotes that make even the best intentioned person sound like a criminal, idiot, or racist. Through those carefully selected excerpts, millions of people across the world form their opinions.

No matter where you live, I strongly encourage you to take 38 minutes out of your day and watch a candidate talk honestly about race. There's no hiding here and there's no dumbing down. Here's a speech by a man who says Gangbanger and can also quote Faulkner. Regardless of WHO you support, which party (if any) you belong, or what your background, you owe it to yourself, your parents, and your neighbors to spend these 38 minutes. So grab some headphones if you have to, and then hit play.
