Nokia released another version of their firmware recently. This time we're up to version 4.0723.2.0.1. At least this time they waited a while. So what's new?

Quite a bit this time actually. I've noticed that they finally fixed the checkbox bug I've been complaining about for ages. Now, when you visit a website on your browser, you can elect to have the site remember you by selecting the checkbox.

The biggest thing, however, is that the standard N73 now comes with the much improved music player that was first introduced in the ME version of the N73. That means if you were patient and opted not to flash your N73 firmware you've finally been rewarded.

Here are some other things I've heard but not had a chance to confirm. (I'll mark them as I do confirm or you can leave a comment below

  1. Snakes is gone [confirmed]
  2. New music player [confirmed]
  3. Checkbox bug fixed [confirmed]
  4. Now supports AD2P
  5. Better Picture Quality
  6. Added FOTA abilities
  7. Vox support [did I miss it earlier?]

I'm looking forward to playing around with the phone again. Kudos to Nokia for continuing to improve the product long after it's been released.
