Another Victim of Sprawl

Caveat: I don't know for certain that this picture was taken in a suburb. Still, the chances of ducks being in downtown Manhattan or downtown DC are much much smaller than a duck being in one of the many suburbs that have sprouted (and grow like viruses) all around the US. I wouldn't be surprised if this were Rockville, MD.
Ducks and all animals shouldn't have to deal with human encroachment into their habitat. We gain a bigger house to brag about to our friends while they lose entire families. The disconnect between human compassion and animals is the most staggering of injustices. We all have something we feel strongly about but why does that make us unable to see the consequences of our daily actions such as living in suburbs, over-consuming meat, or buying from chains?
I liked these pictures. They illustrate the problem of suburban sprawl, and more importantly the problem that occurs when nature meets humanity.
